Natural Skin Care
Natural skin care refers to caring for the skin by using
naturally-derived ingredients such as herbs, roots and oils. Products
which use synthetic chemicals created in factories and labs don't qualify
as natural and won't be found in natural skin care categories. Combining
natural ingredients will lead to healthy skin and will benefit the environment,
as its waste will be biodegradable.
While natural skin care products are available in many local grocery,
drug and beauty supply stores, many people choose to make their own
at home. Because they're made from natural ingredients, it's often easy
to find and grow these ingredients locally. Recipes for natural soaps
and other products can be found on many online Web sites.
Natural skin care is popular, as the idea of products being natural
and not synthetic is popular. However, just because something is labeled
as "natural," the word itself doesn't necessarily hold much
meaning in marketing. There is no standard set by the FDA or other government
agencies that defines natural. It is advised that anyone who wants to
use natural products reads labels carefully and researches the companies
that make the products to ensure his or her personal standards are met
by any product.
