Spa FAQs
I have unwanted facial hair. What are my options
for getting rid of it?
To remove unwanted facial hair, there are many routes one can go. Very
few of them are permanent, and each person's choice depends on several
factors including time, cost and pain tolerance. The most permanent
solution at this time is laser hair removal, which is designed to kill
the hair down to the root. Often it requires several treatments of the
same area to work, but once it's complete the hair will be gone forever.
This is also the most expensive option. People who choose not to go
the laser hair removal route often go for waxing or tweezing. Waxing
can be done every 4-6 weeks, as that's about the time it takes for hair
to grow back. Tweezing is usually done every few days to pick up the
stray hairs that have grown over time. Both waxing and tweezing are
painful and require dedication to keep up with. Most women don't shave
their facial hair off, but shaving is the most common hair removal option
used by men.
What are some of the best spa treatments available for men?
Currently in our society, there's a bit of a stigma attached to men
attending day spas for treatments. However, more and more men are opting
to visit day spas for many different treatments, and the social stigmas
are easing up. Most men choose to have their hair cut and styled at
spas. Some quite enjoy massages as a way to relax and work out the stress
and tension of their jobs. Others like to get manicures to keep their
hands and nails groomed, looking and feeling soft.
What can I expect to spend for a day at the spa?
Spa day costs will vary per person, as it is completely dependent on
the types of treatments one chooses to have done. Most spas have packages
for a day or half-day of treatment, and they mix and match various services
for the packages. For example, one can include a haircut and style,
massage and pedicure while another will include a massage, facial and
sauna time. There are also a la carte services available for those who
aren't interested in purchasing several services over a chunk of time,
but would rather come in for one or two things and leave. Call the local
spa to see what their costs and packages are, and see what can be fit
into the budget for a spa visit.
